Bridge Connector Boardwalk
The last 2 years volunteerism for trail work has hit to a whole new level. In the past there was always a small but solid group who maintained and built our trails. This number has grown huge over the last 2 seasons. On the Fernie Trail Alliance volunteer nights (Thursdays 6:00 pm meet at the Aquatic centre for any other interested parties). It is not uncommon for 25-30 people to show up some nights.
Folks are taking it upon themselves to grab a saw in spring and walk the trails and clean up the winter dead fall. Great job everyone, the more hands on deck the lighter the load.
Last week Greg and Graeme decided it was time to replace a much needed boardwalk on the Bridge View Connector Trail at the Mt. Fernie Park. When they were starting to pack materials in to the work site, a group of boy scouts form Eureka Montana appeared and volunteered to help pack in materials for the project. Great job guys, and a big thank you to everyone who helped out!!
Here are a few pictures of the project:
The old boardwalk has seen some better days!

The Eureka boy scouts on the new boardwalk!!! Yeah!!!
Keep up the great work everyone. Great to see people taking pride in our trails.
Happy trails!
