Spring Riding around Fernie

Cycled up River Road, Roots and Hyper Ventilation on May 2. Only had to walk several short sections on the way up to the top. There is some snow on the north facing slopes near the summit of Hyper Ventilation. Hyper Extension is still snowed in for another week or two. Descended back down Hyper Ventilation and Uprooted to Coal Creek Road. Some snow patches on the upper part of Uprooted but the rest is good. Mitch is busy fixing up the lower Uprooted to clean up after the winter logging operations. There is now more open trail with good views and should now dry out a lot quicker every spring.

Last weekend (April 28) biked up Mad Cow and Swine Flu. The Flu was mostly snow past the piggy bank on both the up and down upper third. Recommend staying on Mad Cow and Farside for another week or so. They both are riding really well right now.
