Club Hut Booking Policy 2024
Recognizing the valuable volunteer efforts required to operate and maintain the backcountry hut system, the Club offer early access to hut bookings for volunteers. Here’s an overview of our booking policy:
Volunteer Access:
• Active Volunteers who contribute their time and skills to the club have early booking privileges.
• Volunteers must maintain a current membership and pay the full nightly rate for their bookings.
• Bookings are non-transferable and for personal use only.
• Early access grants volunteers approximately 33% of available nights.
• Weekend bookings during the winter season are in high demand, and we ask volunteers to avoid them when possible.
Membership Categories:
1. Annual Members:
• $40 membership fee/family $80.
• Receive work party organization emails and club communications.
• Access to the hut booking system begins on November 15th each year.
2. Active Volunteers:
• Local members willing to contribute time and labor.
• Volunteering opportunities are open to anyone via email, annual meetings, or personal contact with directors.
• These volunteers play a crucial role in maintaining and operating our backcountry hut system, bringing diverse skills to the club.
• Early access to the hut booking calendar is granted.
• Pre-book one night per 8 hours of volunteer time (non-transferable).
• Maximum of 4 pre-booked nights per person, regardless of hours volunteered.
• In case of conflicting booking requests, hours volunteered will prioritize decisions.
3. Directors:
• Skilled members responsible for year-round club management and communication with partners and supporters.
• Directors must have a current membership to book cabins.
• Early access to the hut booking calendar is granted.
• Pre-book one night per 8 hours of volunteer time (non-transferable).
• Maximum of 4 pre-booked nights per person, regardless of hours volunteered.
• In case of conflicting booking requests, hours volunteered will prioritize decisions.
4. Long-term Club Members:
• Members serving 15 or more years on the board who are current club members.
• Early access to the hut booking calendar is granted.
• Maximum of 4 pre-booked nights per person, regardless of hours volunteered (non-transferable).
• Conflicting booking requests will be resolved reasonably.
