The Thunder Meadows and Tunnel Creek are basic backcounty huts geared towards ski and split-board mountaineering and are rented on a nightly basis. Each Autumn Club members get together to gather firewood, fill the propane and do general repairs to the cabins. The seasons hut bookings open on October 15th are are managed by the Guides Hut in downtown Fernie.
The clubs other cabins are for day use only and unfortunately one of them, the Harvey Pass Hut, was destroyed by fire this September and will not be replaced until 2018. Donations can be make for the rebuilding. The Montane Hut is a day use facility that is located on the Montane bike and XC-ski trails. People are welcome to use the cabin as a warming hut and donations can be make at the cabin or online.
The Fernie Trails and Ski Touring Club has over 300 members who have paid $25 for a lifetime membership. Cabin bookings require membership and these monies help pay for the costs associated with maintaining the huts and trails.
