Tunnel Creek Hut Update

Good Evening,

I took a jaunt (hiked in) up to the Tunnel Creek Hut today. All is well with the facility and the lights worked- very cool!

There’s still quite a bit of snow on the access road that starts about a mile and a half from the highway. There’s a couple of small trees that have fallen, nothing major. It’s still not drivable but I suspect a quad could push through.

There are a couple of bigger trees (one dead and rotten) down on the trail about 1/2 a mile below the Hut. There’s still quite a bit of snow where it avalanched just before the right turn to make the final climb to the Hut so unable to indicate conditions there. As far as I could tell there’s no major erosion on the trail going up. The stream isn’t running frantically right now, hopefully it stays that way.

Really great facility up there- well done.
