Day Use
The Fernie Trails and Ski Touring Club is committed to providing public day use access to our cabins. All cabins remain open for emergency use at all times.
Thunder Meadows and Tunnel Creek offer overnight rentals and offer a dedicated bunk area, these cabins also offer day use. Harvey Hut is a day and emergency use only cabin.
What defines day use for Thunder Meadows and Tunnel Creek cabins? Camping outside the cabins and using the facilities is not day use.
Our intent of these policies is to facilitate day use without compromising the overnight guests.
Day Use Guide lines:
• Day use is from 10am to 3 30pm.
• Use of the sleeping areas is reserved for overnight users.
• Overnight users equipment and supplies are to be respected.
• If you use firewood please restock the kindling and indoor wood racks.
• If you use the kitchen area and stove please leave the area clean.
• Please use the designated area for grey water disposal and the outhouse for toilet requirements.
• No dogs in or around the cabins due to potential snow-water contamination.
• Day use areas are for public recreational use. Commercial use of the day use area is not permitted.
Abuse of these policies may result in a loss of hut booking privileges.
Please report any hut deficiencies or damage to Directors@fernietrails.com
These huts are volunteer maintained and managed, there is no custodian.
Please respect and take care of our wonderful cabins!
